When Valencia Grace first started writing songs around the age of 15, she had no intention of becoming an artist. By the age of 14 she had experienced life in varying locations – Los Angeles, Dallas Texas, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Poole Dorset, without anyone to share her experiences and the personal struggles she was going through, she turned to song writing and found comfort in her own words and compositions. She might have stumbled naturally into this creative pursuit, but she’s already shaping up to be a brilliant, much-needed addition to the UK’s music scene.
20-year-old rising British singer/songwriter Valencia Grace releases her eagerly anticipated EP Roses. The EP comes after a string of single releases from the songstress, and ahead of her first headline show next week in London. Together with the EP, Valencia releases her fourth single from the EP, “Speechless,” along with a full-length visualizer – watch/listen here.
With Roses, Valencia gives her listeners an open letter: “It’s kind of a love letter, but I guess love letters don’t always have to be nice,” she reasons. “It’s basically the stages of grief in a relationship. It starts off super naïve, and then I start telling the story and getting more honest,” she explains.
Roses, which is titled by the abbreviation formed from the first letters of each EP track, will continue to solidify Valencia as an artist to watch in 2024 and beyond.
