Grammy Award Winning artist T-Pain has a treat for his fans. He has officially announced his anticipated and long-awaited covers album, which supporters have been clamoring for since he won the first season of The Masked Singer. Rising to fame quickly in 2005 with an incredibly original and very distinct voice he found his way back in the mainstream music circuit in 2014 delivering the most-watched NPR Tiny Desk of all time since Tiny Desk was created in 2008. It is a breath of fresh air to know that T-Pain is returning back to his roots and is ready to hear his voice in a way like never before. Although he is known for popularizing “auto-tuned vocals” this cover album is far from that.
The (non-auto-tuned) album On Top Of The Covers are scheduled to be released March 17. You can expect to hear T-Pain paying homage to many music legends such as Sam Cooke, Frank Sinatra, Journey, Dr. Hook, Chris Stapleton, Sam Smith and Black Sabbath. The Tallahassee native will be delivering re-imagined versions of Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Dr. Hook’s “Sharing The Night Together,” Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me,” Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee Whiskey,” Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life” ft. NandoSTL (a Nappy Boy Entertainment artist), and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.”
To coincide with this release, he is scheduled to play two back-to-back intimate album release shows in Los Angeles at the Sun Rose at Pendry West Hollywood, March 17 and 18. Follow T-Pain on social media @tpain for more information about On Top of The Covers.
