After six years away, Dom Cruz has returned in 2026 with a renewed perspective and a story shaped by everything that happened in between. His latest visual for “VOID // FREEDOM” continues that evolution — a dark, cinematic look into the mind of an artist embracing change, reflection, and freedom.
Produced by Blkgod9, Teedoteinsof, and Nopal, “VOID // FREEDOM” closes out Cruz’s new EP PAST LIVES II with a powerful statement. The visual matches the track’s hypnotic energy, moving through late-night scenes and atmospheric shots that reflect the song’s balance of intensity and vulnerability. Cruz delivers a focused performance, bringing the raw emotion and confidence that have become central to his sound.
Originally from Brooklyn, Cruz’s journey has taken him through Atlanta, Florida, Portland, and Southern California — each place adding another layer to the artist he is today. Those experiences, relationships, and personal changes have shaped a style built around honesty, introspection, and storytelling.
“I’d describe my sound as authenticity, vulnerability and darkness all wrapped up into poetry,” Cruz explains.
That feeling runs throughout PAST LIVES II. The project opens with “FUCC ICE FREE FRANKIE JAX,” a gritty introduction that blends raw energy with reflection. “HIGHWAY 1” slows things down with soulful production and a more laid-back approach, while the title track combines haunting samples, organic percussion, and heartfelt writing to create one of the EP’s standout moments.
“VOID // FREEDOM” feels like the culmination of that journey — a record about moving through uncertainty and finding clarity on the other side. After taking time to handle life beyond music, Dom Cruz returns sharper, more intentional, and ready to tell the next chapter of his story.
