Rich Amiri grew up infatuated with the sophistication of 2010s Atlanta trap (Future, Lil Keed, and Young Thug) and the dark melodic cloud rap-infused soundscapes of the SoundCloud era popularized by Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, and Trippie Redd. A true DIY artist who carved out his own lane within hip-hop, Rich Amiri produced his first song when he was a still sophomore in high school and started uploading bedroom recordings to SoundCloud in 2020 — quickly catching the attention of industry mainstays. Working alongside Taz Taylor and Internet Money, Rich Amiri made waves with projects like 2022’s For the Better, which boasted features from SSGKOBE and Summrs, and Evolution, which contained production from Internet Money and a guest appearance from Lil Tecca on “Poppin” (42M+ Streams). After signing a joint venture with Internet Money and independent label 10K Projects, 2023 was a massive year for Rich Amiri, who scored his breakout hit with “ONE CALL” (1B+ Streams) from his atmospheric, trap-infused project Ghetto Fabulous. “ONE CALL” marked Amiri’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and recently achieved RIAA Platinum-certified status. Since then, Amiri‘s career has exploded, earning a spot on the 2024 XXL Freshman List and headlining a nationwide tour with support from Swapa. Now he’s looking ahead, focusing on a forthcoming album and pioneering his newest sound.
Rich Amiri has just released his highly-anticipated fifth studio album Grit & Grace – out now via Internet Money / 10K Projects. The album arrives on the heels of its two lead singles, “Paranoid” (9M+ streams) and “In & Out”, both offering glimpses into the sonic direction that Rich Amiri takes on Grit & Grace, finding Rich Amiri stepping into his most polished era yet, blending upbeat production and pop-leaning elements with the melodic delivery and baritone delivery that he’s become known for. Tracks range from the soul-sampling, 808-heavy “Millionaire Mogul” to the heartfelt ballad “Homesick”, to tracks that are more reminiscent of Rich Amiri‘s classic sound via cuts like “So Long” and “F You Pay Me”. Grit & Grace follows last year’s WAR READY, an 18-track project that showcased Amiri’s rage-ready sound, deep delivery, and immersive psychedelic style. The cover art for Grit & Grace, painted by LA artist Tyler Rexeisen, nods to the good-and-bad duality that Rich Amiri battles with across the duration of the album. The release also follows a three-city headlining tour in Asia, where Rich Amiri performed to sold-out crowds in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Seoul, capping off a breakout year that also included a 24-date U.S. headlining tour with Swapa and a sold-out set at Milwaukee’s Summer Fest. With the new release of Grit & Grace, Rich Amiri strengthens his experimental “rage” sound with tighter writing, stronger melodies, and a clearer sense of direction.
After a breakout year that included being named a 2024 XXL Freshman, RichAmiri released his sophomore album WAR READY in December, featuring standout singles like “KEEP IT COOL” (92M+ Streams), the Waka Flocka Flame-sampling “COUNT MY BANDZ” (21M+ Streams), and collaborations with OsamaSon on “AMIRI TRENDSETTER” and “IM WITH IT”. WAR READY built on the cinematic, genre-bending sound he established on 2023’s Ghetto Fabulous, home to the RIAA Platinum-certified hit “ONE CALL” (1B+Streams). In 2024, Amiri also completed a successful U.S. headlining tour with five sold-out shows, delivered electric sets at Rolling Loud California, Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash, and Wireless Festival in London, and even made his runway debut with Ed Hardy. Hailed for his futuristic blend of soul, trap, and R&B, Rich Amiri is now peeling the curtains back to offer the first glimpse into his highly-anticipated follow-up project.
