  1. Can you tell us about your experience working as a hair stylist and how you got started in this field?

I was about 14 years old when I realized that I had a gift everything came very natural when it came down to hairstyling and being able to control almost every texture of hair. I went to Beauty school when I was 16 I shortly after forgot my license, and I have been actively in my own salon for about 20 years.

  1. What hair styling techniques are you most proficient in, and which ones do you enjoy the most?
so honestly, I don’t have a favorite. I’m pretty well rounded in all areas. I’m not really a weave girl lol because everything pretty much takes so much time when you’re weaving, but I do promote healthy hair so I do all things healthy. I’m also product free or use little to no product honestly so I just personally like for the hair to be healthy but everybody around the area knows me for my hair cutting ability.
  2. How do you stay current with the latest hair trends and techniques in the industry?
Honestly, I don’t believe in following trends I set them. The girls follow me lol humbly of course.
  3. Can you describe a challenging situation you faced with a client and how you resolved it?

Sometimes I’m so busy that I accidentally skip over people or I’m constantly trying to people please with my clients so there are a lot of times when I try to give them my undivided attention and I miss text messages or I miss phone calls and things like that so honestly, I’ve just tried to be more Proficient in my response times I think that’s probably the hardest thing that I go through on a regular basis is having 6000 people want to reach out to me a year

  1. How do you approach consultations with clients to ensure you understand their hair goals and preferences?
I’ve literally been doing this so long that I can eyeball hair breakage the type of breakage whether it’s a chemical break or medical break I know exactly what scalp disorder they have and I know exactly how to fix it so my consultations are usually in and out. We establish what you want I give you what you need.
  2. Can you share some examples of your work or previous clients’ transformations that you are particularly proud of?
Need permission from clients for pictures
  3. How do you handle client feedback or criticism about your work?
You know, I think criticism bills character, so I’ll always take heat to where everybody has to say about me. I don’t let it find me or change my way of thinking, but I do take heat to it because it could only make you better. That’s what criticism is.
  4. What do you believe sets you apart from other hair stylists and makes you a valuable team member? so I don’t operate as a team I’m a one-man band and I’m like that because I have found that because I am so smart and so intelligent in my fear that a lot of people do not carry that trait and it makes it very hard to work with them simply because I may no more and they may no less and I don’t really have the time to teach the way that I really want to, but I know for a fact that my brain and the way I operate in the way I can juggle 1000 people at one time set me apart from everybody. I always wanted to pay more attention to the theory part of my career versus the hands-on part because when you’re smart, and you know what you’re talking about, no one can really outdo you.
  5. How do you prioritize and manage your workload during busy periods in the salon?
So my favorite saying is, outwork the work so that’s pretty much some of how hard I’m willing to go plus I have goals and I haven’t reached them yet so I work my hardest prioritize my days and I love a busy workload
  6. What are your long-term career goals in the hair styling industry? I actually don’t have long left in the hair industry. I’m 36 years old. I’ve been licensed now for 20 years and I am getting a little tired so I’m looking into some other business ventures right now trying to do some other things to generate some generational wealth, and you know trade my time for money but as far as the hair industry, I pretty much done everything that I said to do I’ve owned salons everywhere and I have the highest clientele rate in the 757 with the highest return rate of 94% so I think I’ve done what I could do lol
