JON BELLION RETURNS WITH “WASH” VIDEO SINGLE

GRAMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Jon Bellion is a captivating performer known for his cross-pollinated brand of contemporary pop that touches upon R&B, hip-hop, and indie rock influences. Bellion broke through with his 2015 single “All Time Low” that accumulated tens of millions of streams by the time Bellion’s debut album, The Human Condition, was released in June 2016. The record debuted in the top five on the Billboard 200 chart. He again cracked the top 20 with his 2018 follow-up, Glory Sound Prep, which featured guest appearances by Quincy Jones, Tuamie, RZA, and others. Arriving in November 2018, the record soared to number three on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and landed at number 15 on the Billboard 200. Meanwhile, the multihyphenate remained busy in the studio, co-writing for artists like Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Dua Lipa, Jonas Brothers, Jimin and Selena Gomez. An in-demand collaborator, he co-penned Eminem and Rihanna’s 2015 “The Monster,” which went on to win a GRAMMY for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

In 2019, Bellion founded his own record label, Beautiful Mind Records, where he has since signed powerhouse artists like Tori Kelly and the soul-pop duo Lawrence, continuing to advocate for fellow artists and help them along their journeys.

After six years working out of the spotlight, the wait is finally over – GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter/producer Jon Bellion is back. His triumphant return comes with his highly anticipated new single “Wash” alongside the re-release of hit single “Kid Again.”

Wash” comes with a stunning music video that first debuted exclusively to his fan club.

As his fans have shared, “six years is long enough,” and now, Bellion reclaims his place in the spotlight blending his signature storytelling with innovative soundscapes. “Wash,” inspired by Dave Matthews Band’s “Why I Am,” showcases Bellion’s commanding, arena-ready vocals layered over swelling strings and jangling guitar melodies. The track is deeply personal and evocative with lyrics about the all-consuming power of love while “Kid Again” has a magnetic guitar loop and sharp-edged beat that taps into nostalgia, utilizing vocal manipulation technology of Bellion’s vocals to sound childlike, which ties into the song’s central theme of longing for the carefree innocence of youth.

Jon Bellion on “Wash”: “The majority of ‘Wash’ is about my wife. We say all the time, ‘I’ll always meet you in the middle. However far that is, I will always meet you where you’re at and try to find you.’ That is the spiritual approach of a man chasing after his wife. I’m trying to find her and her beauty. Treat you like a river, let it wash all over me, I see you coming at me like a wave. It’s these pictures of a marriage that’s lasted a long time, and the beauty of sex getting better as time goes on.”

Jon Bellion on “Kid Again”: “We literally made ‘Kid Again’ two days after I found out that I was going to get my contract back. It actually sounds closer to what I would have made in earlier mixtapes. The rest of the album is this grand, grown, almost dark thing, and then ‘Kid Again’ has this sloppiness and this rounder sound that I would have had on previous mixtapes. I thought that would just be a good song to tell my fans, ‘I’m back.’”

Accompanying “Wash” is the vibrant music video (watch HERE) and lyrics that Bellion first shared exclusively with his fans on March 19, 48-hours in advance of release via his fan-focused website and forum, reinforcing his deep appreciation for the community that has supported him over time, including during his six years away from releasing solo music. Within weeks of the announcement, more than 20K people signed up for the forum, highlighting the immense anticipation surrounding his return. By giving them the first look, he created an intimate and special moment, making his community an integral part of his long-awaited comeback. This move aligns with Bellion’s ongoing efforts to foster a direct relationship with his audience, from exclusive content drops to interactive fan experiences. Now officially available to the public, the video, directed by 91 Rules, the directing duo composed of Erik Saltzman and Cameron Tidball-Sciullo [Camila Cabello, The Kid Laroi, Leo Messi], features lush imagery of the gorgeous, sprawling landscape of Iceland with moments of bursting lava and pouring rain that mirror the song’s raw intensity and emotion.

Jon Bellion on his fans: “I really want to serve those who have been there with me and those who are already there. I walked away from everything at the peak of my career. We had an actual fan base that came out to shows, and now I feel a personalness to them. I want to give back to them. If new people come to the table, that’s great, the music is incredible. But I think it’s more about servicing the people who are ready to support because that’s what this is all about.”

Following the release of 2018’s Glory Sound Prep, Bellion made headlines not only for his artistry but also for his decision to step away from solo music. Frustrated by inequitable recording and performance contracts and eager to focus on building a family, the Long Island native shifted his creative energy behind the scenes. In that time, he crafted chart-topping hits for Burna Boy, Rihanna, Anuel AA, Justin Bieber, Tainy, Khalid, Lil Wayne, Camila Cabello, Jon Batiste, Eminem, Fireboy DML, Skrillex, Dua Lipa, Jung Kook, Miley Cyrus, Quincy Jones, Pharrell, Timbaland, The Kid Laroi, Selena Gomez, Roc Marciano, Halsey, Ayra Starr, and Jimin.

In 2019, he founded Beautiful Mind Records, signing powerhouse artists like Tori Kelly and the soul-pop duo Lawrence. His undeniable success eventually led his label to renegotiate his contract, setting the stage for the return to his solo career.

As he steps into this new chapter of life and creativity, one thing is certain: Jon Bellion’s journey is just beginning, and the best is yet to come.

Now, after a 6-year hiatus from releasing music, Bellion returns to the spotlight with his strongest work yet. Starting with singles “Wash” and “Kid Again,” Jon helps set the stage for more to come.
