Rising singer/songwriter Sabrina Sterling returns with her new single “Lonely In Love”. The bedroom pop ballad recounts the loneliness felt in a relationship when feelings are not reciprocated, and the finding strength in letting go.
In talking about “Lonely in Love”, Sabrina says “it’s about leaving a relationship where it feels like the other person doesn’t love you anymore. It’s the moment you realize you don’t need to waste more time, energy, and money into someone who acts like being with you or doing anything for you is an inconvenience. I implore anyone who relates or currently is in a situation like this to, pardon my French, dump their ass. I hope after listening to “Lonely in Love,” you feel empowered.”
Sabrina has found her people by writing raw, introspective songs that feel way beyond her years. She cites diaristic lyricists like Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine, Julia Michaels, and Gracie Abrams as influences—a maturity that conceals the fact that until she got Spotify on her phone in eighth grade. In 2021, the then 16-year-old Sterling taught herself basic chords on the guitar and wrote her first song. Three months later, her first video blew up on TikTok. Sterling’s gentle acoustic guitar arrangements have won her a vast audience on TikTok, where tracks like “Bittersweet” and “Love Me That Way” have racked up millions of views and earned co-signs from the likes of Finneas and Olivia Rodrigo.
