Third Knuckle’s The Page: A Surprise Track That Earns a Grudging Nod

I’ll admit it—I wasn’t expecting much when I hit play on Third Knuckle’s new single, The Page. Yet another Boston-based hard rock band with big influences and big dreams? Yawn. But then the riff kicked in, and, well… let’s just say I’m eating my words.

The Page doesn’t waste time—it comes out swinging with a surprisingly polished sound yet raw enough to feel real. Third Knuckle calls it “mean and clean,” I hate to admit they’re right. It’s a modern rock track that nods to legends like Metallica and Soundgarden without sounding like a rehash. The riffs have bite, the vocals pack emotion, and the whole thing is tied together with just enough grit to keep it grounded.

What caught me off guard, though, were the lyrics. When I hear “open to interpretation” in a band’s description, I usually brace for meaningless fluff. But The Page delivers. The themes of self-awareness, change, and living free from judgment hit home. It’s introspective without being pretentious—a rare feat.

I expected the usual low-budget rock clichés, but it’s genuinely engaging. The band’s performance feels alive and resonates with the song’s message. These guys know who they are and what they want to say.

Don’t get me wrong—I’m still grumpy. But I can’t deny that The Page is a solid rock track. Third Knuckle surprised me, and that’s not something I say often. If this is the kind of music they’re kicking off 2025 with, maybe I’ll keep an eye on them after all. Just don’t tell anyone I said that.
