Foster continues his run with new “rather be lonely” single

Nashville artist Foster has returned with a new song called “rather be lonely”. The new single displays his ear for engaging, emotive lo-fi production with its evocative soundscape- paired with Foster’s penchant for heartfelt lyricism and smooth flows. Here, Foster delivers an engaging performance as he discusses topics like loneliness and longing atop appropriately bittersweet instrumentation centered around drifting guitars and rich rhythms. “rather be lonely” is another engaging track from Foster that further demonstrates his relatability as an artist and creative vision, providing listeners with poignant content laid over a tapestry of warm sounds.

Foster, a 26-year-old Nashville native, delved into music at the age of 14, drawing inspiration from the late Mac Miller. His style seamlessly blends singing and rapping with a Lofi twist, coupled with heartfelt storytelling lyrics.

After signing with Sony’s Relentless Records in 2020, Foster made waves globally with his viral hit “fools,” which samples Elvis’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. This was followed up by a string of singles and his debut pop-leaning EP “less than three” in 2022.

In 2023, Foster would go on to release his first independent track “stars,” finding success returning to his signature Lofi sound; and in February of this year, further showcases his versatility with self-produced acoustic ballad “death wish”. Foster aims to further solidify his presence in the Lofi Poprap scene, crafting songs that evoke genuine emotions and resonate with listeners.
