Continuing to carve his path and create buzz, Folk-Indie singer songwriter, Hans Williams, releases his most vulnerable song to date, “Skin.”
The Vermont-raised, New Orleans-based independent artist sheds back the layers on this imposter syndrome anthem,as he delves into the relatable feelings of self-doubt and hypercriticism, “under my skin, where you hide, tearing me apart one piece at a time.” Fighting the urge to give up, he reminds himself to push those feelings away and continue to trust the process, “when I feel it creepin’ in, that’s when I give it all away.”
“’Skin’ is a letter to the hypercritical part of myself – a reminder to not take it too seriously,” says Hans. It’s for every time I’ve questioned why I make music and who I make it for. It’s helped me come to terms with my self-perception and I hope it could do the same for others.
With the promise of more music to come, the singer-songwriter was also just announced as a performer at Hinterland Festival in Iowa on August 3rd where he will be sharing a stage alongside the likes of Noah Kahan, Hozier, Lizzy McAlpine and Vampire Weekend.
With over 65 million streams under his belt, Hans Williams has been showcasing his talents for the last few years, finding success with singles such as “All Is Well,” “Checklist” and “Willows.” Completely independent, the singer-songwriter has landed coveted spots on editorial playlists such as New Music Friday, Folk Pop and Mountain Air, while garnering attention from Billboard, Ones to Watch, Sheesh and more.
