GRAMMY®-nominated / RIAA Diamond-certified singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Hozier has released his highly anticipated third studio album Unreal Unearth. Listen HERE and watch the official video for “De Selby (Part 2)” starring Irish actor and screenwriter Domhnall Gleeson HERE, which premiered earlier this week and follows the visuals for previously released singles “Eat Your Young,” “All Things End,” and “Francesca.” Using Dante’s Inferno and the 9 circles of hell as a loose structure, the 16-track LP follows a captivating thematic arc informed by the turbulence of the world and the fight for a better and brighter tomorrow. Unreal Unearth, featuring 11 brand new songs including “Damage Gets Done” with Brandi Carlile, traces a provocative, poetic, and powerful roadmap back into the light. See full tracklisting below.
In speaking about Unreal Unearth, Hozier says: “A lot of the initial writing took place in the early days of the pandemic. It felt like a very surreal time—as if the earth was on its head. That’s the Unreal part. It was also a season of great misinformation. It felt like we stepped into an alternative world. I liked Unearth as a verb ‘to dig’ or ‘to uncover.’ It describes a world that is not of this earth. The record is the experience of a journey through a certain period.”
Hozier is back on US soil to celebrate the album’s release. The Irish troubadour will perform in studio as part of Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on Friday, August 18. He will also be featured on today’s CBS Mornings with Anthony Mason as they deep dive into the new album and recount the past four years since the 2019 release of Wasteland, Baby!, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Additionally, Hozier will perform live on https://www.twitch.tv/amazonmusic as part of the City Sessions livestream series at 9pm EST tonight (Friday, 8/18).
With over 1 million tickets sold worldwide, Hozier will bring his massive international ‘Unreal Unearth Tour’ to North America with the first show on September 9 in St. Louis, MO. He will perform 28 sold-out shows across 25 cities, including Madison Square Garden in New York and Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, marking his largest headline run in the U.S. and Canada to date. Following his North American run, Hozier will return to Europe for the remainder of his international shows that will conclude with three performances at Dublin’s 3Arena.
