Indie alternative musician Peter McPoland has officially released his debut full-length album Piggy today. The 11-track project mirrors Peter’s growth both artistically, sonically and personally. It showcases his experimentation of grainy electronic production and heavier instrumentation, while his icy melodies alternately captivate and provoke. Peter wrote, recorded, played every instrument, and produced the bulk of this album entirely on his own.

In line with the album release comes a self-animated video for “Mold,” the cinematic official video for Peter’s favorite song on the album, “Dog”, and all new visualizers starring Peter for every remaining song. Watch the Keats-directed video for “Dog” HERE, which serves as a continuation of the “Ceiling Fan/Piggy” video. The song begins with the cries of a whimpering puppy that fall into the embrace of buzzing shoegaze guitar as his words set the scene, “Damn fucking dog bit too hard this time.” Peter also kicked off release week with an exclusive live performance of “Digital Silence” with Vevo.

Every visual element, even if jarring or controversial, augments the world of Piggy. “My mom and grandma hate them, but it’s okay,” he laughs. “I like weird stuff that makes people think. It’s uneasy, but it’s cool.”

“When I turned 21, my parents got divorced. I was so angry and depressed. Between the divorce and facing writer’s block, it was a shitty year for me. I have a group chat with a bunch of tight friends from high school called Lord of the Flies, and one character in the book is named Piggy. He gets his head crushed by as boulder, and I felt like Piggy.”

Taking the new material on the road, Peter will be going on The Piggy North American Tour this fall across North America. He will visit 23 cities with stops in major markets like Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas and New York City.
