Izabellah Diez is an actress and competitive cheerleader that is learning to juggle high school, cheer, and her numerous acting roles. Her latest Independent film is set to release in the fall and she couldn’t be more excited. Izabellah found time for this interview about her new film and her upcoming projects. Thank you Izabellah!

1.     Tell us about your upcoming film.

My upcoming film “My Father’s Fiancé” is about a girl named Jenny, whose parents are recently divorced & her father has a new Fiancé. This film has action, drama, suspense, and a lot of family love. You definitely won’t be disappointed.

2.     How do you prepare for a role?

How I prepare for any role is after getting the script, I go over it several times so I can get it memorized. I start working with my acting coach via zoom, as soon as I get a project and the month before I go to an in person acting lesson specific to the role I’m cast for.

3.     How much rehearsal time is there between getting the script and shooting the film?

It honestly depends on the project.  “My Father’s Fiancé”, I had a few weeks to prepare for the role. But that does not always happen. I have been pinned for projects months out or even the same week or day. You just never know I’m in this industry.

4.     What do you love most about acting?

The one thing that I love about acting is getting to play a character that is not me. I get to use my imagination and create a new person to express what the character is trying to say. Getting to create that new person then seeing it on screen is truly amazing.

5.     What’s the craziest thing that happened on the set of this film?

One of the craziest things that has happened on the set of “My Father’s Fiancé” was the illusion that I was actually driving. I was 14 years old when we shot the film and my character Jenny was a 17 year junior. With all the movie magic, the crew made it seem like I was really driving.

6.     What do you hope people will take away from watching the film?

One thing I hope people will take from this film is to always trust your instincts, and that family is so important to all of us.

7.     What are your goals for 2023?

Some of my goals for 2023 are to make a lot of new memories, spend quality time with my friends and family. And just do my best in cheerleading and acting. I have “My Fathers Fiancé” coming this Fall & I have a new film shooting later this Winter. I’m SUPER excited about this upcoming project.
