Where are you from?
Kansas City Missouri born and raised
What sets you apart?
I really lived it….. plus I walk in my truth, unapologetically me
Are there any particular themes or messages that you often explore in your music?
Samples, I love sampled music. I have a nostalgic flow. I strive to make timeless music.
What is your creative process like when you make a new song?
9 times out of 10 I’m driving as I write new music or create content. While towing or transporting cars I usually see or heart something that triggers my imagination
How do you stay motivated and inspired to make music? You own a barbershop, tow truck company and a auto transporting company all at the same time! How do you balance work music and life?
I can’t stunt, those random inboxes and dms from complete strangers telling me how my music has affected their lives keeps me motivated. And I draw inspiration from all kinds of places, musically I’m very well rounded, my playlist stretches from hootie and the blowfish to pastor Troy. As far as balancing time, driving is my god given talent I don’t look at it as work it’s just what I do to finance my freedom.
Where do you see yourselves in 5 years? in 10 years? in 20 years?
5yrs from now I see me reaping the fruits of my labor. These countless miles, countless tows and thousands of streams are definitely going to pay off one day, hopefully sooner than later. 10yrs from now I plan on being a seasoned politician. I definitely want to hold office in my city and make a difference. 20yrs from now I plan on using my wealth and reparations to build a city in Ghana, Africa.
Tell me about a personal project that you are truly proud of.
My barber shop, I had to jump threw so many hoops to get it right, I was truly proud of myself when we cracked those doors
What do you think about the current state of the rap industry?
It’s at a pivot, we are reclaiming the culture. Bringing real back, bringing truth back.
Do you think social media is important for artists these days?
Social media is definitely important for artists these days. It’s just when the artist forgets social media is a tool not entertainment is where the problems start.
What do you think about streaming services and their impact on the rap industry?
I personally don’t care for it. I’m a people person, I’m approachable, I have charisma, I got that energy, I got that hustle, I got that drive, I would rather sell my music hand to hand. I can’t be out hustled.
