Arkansas-born artist YB has shared a fresh new EP called ‘JUDAS’. YB grew up moving frequently within America, which eventually influenced his versatile, eclectic style and ear for diverse sounds. Hot off the heels of his last full-length release, the powerful, memorable ‘WINGS OF AN ANGEL [Deluxe Version]’, YB has returned to deliver a strong follow-up to that record. Here, he presents a 3-song set that captures the listener’s attention with its engaging, captivating sound and infectious vocals.
“HEART ON MY SLEEVE” opens the EP with an uplifting soundscape that captures YB’s signature sound, as heavenly keys and crisp percussion underscore his soulful vocals. He delivers melodically-tinged vocals that contain catchy melodies that linger in the listener’s head long after listening, making for a poignant opener. Next, “ICE COLD” brings in a much more hard-hitting and crisp style with powerful pianos and heavy, driving 808s combining for a cathartic feel. “YOU DON’T KNOW” closes out the EP with anthemic, colourful synths creating a triumphant feel as YB celebrates what he overcame personally atop the rich production, making for a strong closer to the EP.
