Kelly Padrick, an American indie pop singer-songwriter from Providence, Rhode Island, now based in New York City, has had her music featured across film and television. Her song “Pizza and Fairytales” was featured in the Fox Searchlight film Trust the Man.
Her songs “Ties That Bind” and “The Brooklyn Hours” were used by ABC in promotional commercials for Desperate Housewives. Her tracks “Believing Makes it So” and “Consciousness” were featured on HBO’s VICE, and her music has also appeared on MTV’s Big Tips Texas.
Padrick has been writing music since she was five years old and has built a long career as an independent artist, releasing seven full-length albums and four EPs that blend pop, folk, new wave, and surf-pop. Her albums include her 2005 debut, Haze, along with Carmine Street (2007), Hello My Love (2010), Soulmate (2011), Dear Love (2014), and It’s Only Me (2016), as well as EPs including The Brooklyn Hours and Fires. Since 2006, she has written much of her material with longtime partner Nancy Hess.
Padrick’s visual work has followed a similar pattern of ongoing collaboration. Filmmaker Patricia Chica has directed 11 of Padrick’s music videos, including the award-winning “Heavenly Ride” and “Waiting For This.” The two will film a new video together for Padrick’s song “Shine” in Montreal in January 2027.
Padrick’s newest release is Butterflies, a 2026 EP described as nostalgic, empowering, and emotionally vulnerable. The five-track, country-pop project was produced by Marc Copely.
