Born Perry Terrell Shedd on January 11, 1984, in Madison, Wisconsin, P. Swagger’s journey is a testament to perseverance, resilience, and determination. Raised by a single mother in Madison’s toughest neighborhoods, including Allied Drive and Sommerset, he experienced firsthand the challenges of poverty, adversity, and life without a consistent father figure.
While many circumstances could have defined his future, P. Swagger used those experiences as motivation. Influenced by hip-hop icons including Jay-Z, The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Nas, and Cam’ron, P. Swagger began developing his lyrical talents during his years at Madison West High School. His charisma, confidence, and sharp delivery quickly earned him local recognition, leading to the formation of the group Loyal Fam alongside several classmates.
