With the release of Dem Mali Mali and a debut EP on the way, SYNEKK is stepping into a defining phase of his artistic journey. Born Paul Bobrowski in Germany and now based in Southeast Asia, the DJ and producer has developed a sound shaped by international club culture and a growing connection to Afro-influenced electronic music.
SYNEKK explained that his musical roots go back to 2009, when he first began producing rap and hip-hop instrumentals. Although his transition into DJing came much later, starting in 2023, the foundation he built as a producer played a key role in how quickly he adapted behind the decks. What began as experimenting with an entry-level setup at afterparties soon turned into a serious pursuit as he immersed himself in the local scene.

He pointed to the importance of community in his early development, noting how established DJs offered guidance and support as he found his footing. A major turning point came through his relationship with Ameer, founder of EventsKL, one of Kuala Lumpur’s leading event companies. Early bookings through EventsKL helped transform his passion into a professional path, and the collaboration has since evolved into a long-term role. Today, SYNEKK serves as Music Director for EventsKL, curating sound for large-scale productions and high-profile private events, including performances for members of Malaysia’s royal family and other prominent public figures.
Musically, SYNEKK’s sound blends Tech-House and Progressive-House roots with Afrohouse and Afrobeats influences. His productions focus on driving grooves, warm percussion, and uplifting energy -designed for both late-night club settings and open-air environments.
His latest single, Dem Mali Mali, featuring Kenyan artists CHUMA and Nes Mburu, marks a clear step deeper into Afro-influenced club culture. The release highlights his interest in cross-border collaboration and global African sounds, while setting the tone for what’s next. That direction continues with his debut EP, Kenya Hear Me?, scheduled for release in February 2026, featuring collaborations with CHUMA, Nes Mburu, J Nana, and Lucinia Karrey.
With Dem Mali Mali now out and a debut EP on the horizon, SYNEKK is steadily carving out his space as a globally minded artist-one shaped by mentorship, community, and hands-on experience within Southeast Asia’s vibrant nightlife scene.
