We caught up with The Shelf Life Band ahead of their Bandzilla Weekender performance to talk about their sound, influences, and what fans can expect from their set.
1. Bandzilla Weekender is an exciting event with a lot of buzz — how does it feel to be performing alongside other talented artists under Big Condo Records?
We are very excited to play! We have put lots of thought into our set and hope the crowd enjoy.
2. For readers who might be discovering you for the first time, how would you describe The Shelf Life Band’s sound and musical identity?
We are a relatively new upcoming band who are still foraging our musical identity, driven by colourful and interesting guitar tones with original music on the horizon.
3. Your live performances are known for their energy and connection with the crowd, what can fans expect from your Bandzilla Weekender set?
Lots of energy!!! We are supa excited!!!!!!
4. Every band has a unique origin story, how did The Shelf Life Band come together, and what inspired the name?
We met on a treacherous journey to destroy the one ring in the fires of Mordor and decided to start a band after the experience.
5. Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped your sound or songwriting style?
We have many musical influences; we cover lots of Arctic Monkeys songs and they have impacted our sound. However, we are still on a journey to truly discover our musical identity.
6. The music industry has evolved a lot recently, how do you stay creative and authentic in such a fast-changing scene?
Our creativity comes from jamming sessions around little riffs or chords that evolve into something bigger.
7. What has your experience been like working with Big Condo Records, and how has that partnership helped your musical journey?
This is our first gig with Big Condo. We hope they enjoy our weekend set and play many more gigs for them in the future.
8. Do you have any upcoming projects, singles, or collaborations fans should keep an eye out for after the festival?

9. If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, who would it be and why?
We’d love to collaborate with Geese, they’re so niche! I love Geese, geese, geese. Please, Cameron!
