BRE-Z is a multi-hyphenate actor and rapper best known for her breakout roles as Freda Gatz on Empire and Coop on All American, who is now reemerging as BRZ, the artist, songwriter, and producer.
With filming for the final season of All American wrapping, Bre-Z is turning her full focus back to her first love — music. Her new single “Bleed”, released October 16, arrives alongside a powerful visual that dropped over the weekend, capturing the song’s raw emotion through bold silhouettes and cinematic framing that mirror its themes of pain, reflection, and resilience. Serving as a striking introduction to her next era, “Bleed” sets the tone for her forthcoming EP In Plain Sight, coming soon via 7th & 22nd.

This new era is intentionally personal. The In Plain Sight project dives deep into BRZ’s world, unpacking childhood trauma, creative evolution, and the realities of navigating the entertainment industry as a masculine-presenting Black woman breaking boundaries across both music and film. The visual rollout directed by her partner and creative powerhouse Sasha Lance, a creative entrepreneur and actress brings this vulnerable, cinematic perspective to life.
“Bleed” is the project’s heartfelt lead single, opening fans up to BRZ’s transparent thoughts of life, freedom, and expression; marking the first of several records including “Breathe” and “Down Bad.” Following In Plain Sight, fans can expect a full-length album later this year, featuring over 15 tracks of R&B, hip hop, and alternative influences, much of it self-written and produced by BRZ herself.
Following the organic success of her recent single “BLU” (4M+ IG views and strong TikTok traction), In Plain Sight is poised to show audiences who BRZ truly is, not Freda, not Coop, but the artist behind the mic and the vision.
