In a crowded Florida Hip-Hop scene, Loe Shimmy has been putting on for his city while actively setting himself apart from his contemporaries through his strained delivery, charismatic raps & expressive incorporation of melodies into his otherwise grimy sound. Coming off of his breakthrough year in 2024 which included a tour alongside Sexyy Red & Hunxho, and came to a close with the release of his sixth album Nardy World and first Billboard-charting song “For Me” (feat. Brent Faiyaz), Loe Shimmy has been continuing his hot streak. With critical acclaim from major publications like The FADER, Pitchfork, Passion of the Weiss, and others, as well as growing popularity on TikTok where #loeshimmy exploded, amassing millions of views –– Loe Shimmy is effectively in the process of transitioning from a local star to an international success story thanks to his truly singular sound.
Fresh off his selection to XXL‘s 2025 Freshman Class, Florida trailblazer Loe Shimmy has just released his new album Rockstar Junkie — out now. In addition to a collaboration with DonToliver on the woozy, late-night anthem “3am”, which stamps their first ever link-up, Rockstar Junkie boasts a star-studded feature list with appearances from Quavo, TrippieRedd, fellow XXL FreshmanYTB Fatt, and others. The album serves as a 26-track deep dive into the melodic sound that Loe Shimmy has been curating since arriving on the scene in 2020 –– marking his seventh project in the past four years. Blossoming from a regional Florida star into worldwide superstardom, Rockstar Junkie is preceded by its lead single “Tubi Movie”, and also arrives on the heels of LoeShimmy wrapping up his run opening for Lil Baby on the WHAM Tour alongside Rob49 and PLUTO. After Loe Shimmy kicked off the year with a run of singles that included “Kill The Scene”, “Dirty Money”, “Juice Wrld”, the AWGE affiliate Hidji World-directed “Off My Mind”, and a collaboration with Trippie Redd on “Coco Chanel”, Rockstar Junkie is both a reflection of his come-up and a celebration of his breakthrough success. Serving as the long-awaited follow-up to his breakout 2024 album Nardy World, which featured the Billboard Hot 100-charting “For Me” and its remix with Brent Faiyaz, Rockstar Junkie is out now.
Since dropping Z end in 2022, which was led by the Drake-approved track “Tina”, Loe Shimmy has been on a rapid ascent, collaborating with Florida mainstays like Kodak Black (“Get Away”) and Luh Tyler (“Santa” & “A Day In The NOYA”). After a performance at Rolling Loud, collaborations with artists like Veeze (“Dirty Soda Junkie”), as well as the release of his breakthrough Billboard-charting project Zombieland 2 and its accompanying deluxe version, Loe Shimmy has now emerged as Florida’s premier talent. Having also recently toured with Sexyy Red on her Sexyy Red 4 President Tour and Rob49 and Skilla Baby on their Vultures Eat The Most Tour last summer, Loe Shimmy recently wrapped up his debut headlining run too with the sold-out Nardy World Tour. Continuing his hot streak with each release by emphasizing his guttural cadence and knack for reflective storytelling, he has his eyes set on solidifying himself as an essential artist coming out of his home state’s highly competitive rap scene. The new album Rockstar Junkie from the freshly-minted 2025 XXL Freshman (an accomplishment that he manifested in 2022), is a clear-cut testament to his growing stature and distinct talents that have set him apart from the rest of the Florida pack: a unique ability to flex while also remaining mindful of the struggles he had to overcome to get to this point.
