Flau’jae Drops New Video Single “Remember When”

Musician and NCAA basketball superstar Flau’jae released her most personal single to date, “Remember When,” which is available to stream HERE via Flauge Entertainment/Roc Nation Distribution.

The powerful track arrives alongside an emotional music video that serves as a heartfelt homage to her father, the late rapper Camoflauge, who was tragically killed on May 19, 2003, while Flau’jae was still in her mother’s womb. Now, over two decades later, Flau’jae channels that pain into purpose with “Remember When,” a lyrical time capsule of grief, resilience, and generational healing.

On the track, she pulls no punches recounting childhood trauma, the weight of legacy, and her rise from loss to triumph. “Remember When” blends raw bars with reflective lyricism like “I came in a family it was already torn / my mama couldn’t smile when she had me, she had to mourn…” providing fans a vulnerable glimpse into Flau’jae’s life beyond the spotlight.

The music video features Flau’jae rapping in front of a piano, with black-and-white clips woven throughout—featuring scenes from her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, archival footage of her father performing and holding his vinyl record, visuals of his tomb, her America’s Got Talent performance, a moment from her music video with Lil Wayne, and highlights from her basketball journey. The visual closes with a still image of her father, captioned simply: Jason Johnson aka Camoflauge (1981–2005).

The release comes during a busy stretch for Flau’jae. Most recently, she hit the road alongside BossMan Dlow, joining select stops on his DLOW CURRY Tour in cities like Boston, Toronto, and Denver, bringing her explosive stage presence to new audiences. Simultaneously, the NCAA champion is featured in the second season of ESPN’s Full Court Press, which follows three of the nation’s top women’s college basketball players throughout the season. The series premiered last month on ESPN and highlights her unique ability to balance elite athletics and an ascending music career. In addition, Flau’jae will coach the 2025 BET Celebrity Basketball Game this Saturday, June 7, in Los Angeles, bringing her full-circle moment as both an athlete and artist to BET Experience weekend.

“Remember When” follows her genre-blending R&B project Flau & B and a string of recent career milestones from her standout performance at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards and collaboration with Lil Wayne to being recognized by Billboard and Forbes

With this release, Flau’jae returns to her roots, delivering a powerful reminder that pain can fuel greatness and that legacy lives on through voice, purpose and passion.
