Following the recent release of “Who’s The Greatest?”, which features Detroit native and former Slum Village member eLZhi, “Blink Twice” serves as the second single from her forthcoming album The Color Chocolate 2 — out June 20th via Perfect Time Music Group. Marking her sixth single of the year, “Blink Twice” is a two-minute lyrical exploration of Che Noir‘s childhood over dark production courtesy of Evidence: “The production on this one gave me a sinister vibe that I couldn’t resist.” She explains, “It was one of those beats where I felt like there was no need to overthink it — just rap until you can’t rap anymore”. Her lyricism remains rooted in introspective, conscious wordplay, bringing an immediate sense of connection to the music and the personal stories she weaves within her songs, which often detail the realities of life as a young Black woman in America.
