Alongside the album announcement, she has shared her new single and MNEK collaboration “Taste” out now—listen HERE—and announced a brand-new show at London’s KOKO on September 8th

New album Perimenopop is a positive record that is a playful celebration of where Sophie is at in her life, knowing exactly who she is and embracing the joy and empowerment that brings. Featuring previously released tracks “Freedom of the Night,” “Relentless Love,” and “Vertigo,” it is the record Sophie was meant to make 7 studio albums into her 25-year career, seeing her confidently return to her iconic dance-pop sound. Sophie collaborated with MNEK and Jon Shave [Charli XCX, Sugababes] on new single “Taste,” which is an immediate and fun pop song that builds to an alluring and joyous chorus.

Sophie says, “‘With ‘Taste,’ I collaborated with MNEK and Jon Shave to write a playful, flirtatious pop song about chemistry. What can really make you want to be around someone is when their taste, what they like in life, is something you become addicted to. You want to experience all delights with them and share it with them as everything they introduce you to feels just right. All your senses feel alive and awake—like the full flavour of life is realised. Chef’s kiss.”

Alongside the album announcement, Sophie has also shared a brand-new show with an album launch gig at London’s KOKO ahead of release on September 8th. Tickets are available for pre-sale with pre-orders of the album on May 14th and go on general sale on May 16th.

The glittering anthem “Freedom of the Night” signalled a new era for Sophie with a confident return to her iconic and esteemed disco-pop sound, embracing her musical roots across pop, disco, and dance. The Radio 2 A-listed single saw Sophie back together with longstanding collaborator Sophie Muller on the video, which celebrated the renowned “Murder on the Dancefloor” video. Sophie ended 2024 with a performance of the track as part of her BBC New Year’s Eve Disco show.
