“Matter of Time” is a groovy song. It’s not average, normal, or anything related to those simpler descriptors you’d give most songs. While it has some minimalistic qualities, it is overall packed with a pleasing mix of instruments, vocals, and sound effects.
The song is atmospheric and makes the listener feel like they’re listening in space. Simultaneously, the vocals help narrate the themes of desiring someone and wanting to be with someone. The lyrics are constructed well and sit beautifully within the mix.
To contrast, there are a few moments in the track where the lead synthesizer runs astray into a funky-sounding solo section before leading back into the final choruses. The riff is very catchy and helps aid the song to be a memorable one. With each release, DJ Chris Cali continuously contributes to the EDM scene at large
