Zima Kamimoto re-releases old EPs after Instagram suspension

On September 19, Zima Kamimoto launched a new Instagram account, @katarianazima, after the suspension of her original account on September 8. She used the occasion of the relaunch to surprise fans by re-releasing three early EPs—Queen of Manhattan (January 19, 2016), Grey (November 10, 2017), and Munich (January 2, 2019)—which had previously been removed by the American singer before her rise to notoriety. Rather than begin her new feed with her earliest cosplay content, Zima chose to launch it by unveiling the cover art for Queen of Manhattan, her debut EP released at the age of 15, followed by its accompanying photoshoot.

She followed the same approach with her subsequent EPs, Grey (2017) and Munich (2019). In a video posted across her social media platforms, Zima explained her decision to reintroduce these earlier projects at this time. She noted that the suspension of her Instagram account served as a catalyst, prompting her to take action. Additionally, the critical acclaim of her first two albums gave her the confidence to rerelease her earlier work, feeling that the time had finally come to allow these projects to be available again. Additionally, Zima reminded her fans of the release of her new single, “Bandaged Doll” this past Wednesday, and shared that her third album “Horror Protagonist — Act II: Warfare/From Russia, with love” is set to be released on October 7, further heightening anticipation for her war-themed album.
