‘Heart’ is the debut single from Liverpool Alt-Rock/Pop artist Amber Elara. In the little over a month since it’s release it’s already amassed an impressive 2000 streams on Spotify. For a few years now, Amber has worked tirelessly gigging around Liverpool. She has been playing the piano since the age of 8 and she excels at it.
There is a lush, atmospheric opening to the song. Then those gorgeous rolling drums kick in. It is very Pink Floyd esque, which you can clearly hear was one of Amber’s inspirations for this. Lyrically the song is about bearing your soul and not getting much in return. However she is unapologetic for the amount of love that she displays:-
I like what I like and I don’t feel bad. I don’t believe in guilty pleasures when it comes to love It’s obvious to the listener that Amber is a very technically gifted vocalist, with a stunning vocal range. This is clear when it comes to the chorus where she increases pitch. Amber is joined on ‘Heart’ by long time collaborator George Gimblett. Who’s explosive guitar licks here aren’t unalike to a Brian May or a Slash. Very high praised indeed!
The track climaxes as amazingly as it begins, with an incredible vocal from Amber. All the chills! ‘Heart’ comes with a hard-hitting video which shows an abusive relationship. This compliments the track really well. There’s already been a fantastic reception to ‘Heart’. Her packed out single release at local venue Round The Corner was testament to that.
Other tracks she performed on that night included another composition titled ‘Stay’. Amber brought the curtain down on a memorable evening with a rousing rendition of Oasis’ ‘Champagne Supernova’. Amber is already working on single number two. She has set the bar very high with her first. But Amber isn’t your average musician. She’s the real deal! Amber is signed to Big Condo Records. Brace yourselves for more singles and an upcoming EP!
