In speaking about the meaning of the release of DEADBEAT! – Disc 1, Jack says: “I’ve been releasing music for almost 5 years now. I’ve never released a full-length studio album. Not because I didn’t want to but because I wasn’t able to say what I wanted to say the right way. So I practiced. I wrote song after song after song until they started sounding how I wanted them to sound. Disc one of my album “DEADBEAT!” Is about the person I used to be. It’s about the comfort I found in being a loser. It’s about the freedom of having no responsibility. It’s about the liberation that comes with having no reason to live. You might say “Jack, where is the resolve?” And to that I say ‘It’s in Disc 2.’”
Jack will hit the road this September on his Jack Kays Goes On A Roadtrip! tour, a handful of headline shows in September to complement his festival appearance at Riot Fest in Chicago.
