Recording Artist McKenna Camille just released a new single titled “Three Way”. The upbeat pop song is the first release in a while for this talented bi-coastal performer. Previously, McKenna has released about fourteen singles including “Runaway”, “Strawberry Shortcake” and “B3tt3r Than Y0U”. She has performed all over the world including performances in Paris and New York for Fashion Week. A graduate of the Tisch School for the Performing Arts, McKenna is heading back to New York in September for another performance. When not working McKenna spends her time water skiing and hanging out with her new puppy. I recently caught up with McKenna to get the scoop on this latest release.
- Tell us about your upcoming single “Three Way”.
“Three Way” is a fun, upbeat pop song that is calling out those people that gossip about you and bring you into conversations your name doesn’t have to be in. - How do you prepare for a recording session?
I drink a lot of water, I switch from coffee to hot tea and do a lot of vocal warm ups! - How much rehearsal time is there between writing the song and recording it in the studio?
None! We are typically writing then singing then writing then singing. - What do you love most about making music?
I love that songs act as my journal entries. Lyrics are just the words I would write in my diary and the composition is the font determining how hard I am pressing on the paper. Music is a way to let go of things. It’s a way to get the bad off your mind and to celebrate the good. - What’s the craziest thing that happened on the while recording “Three Way”?
Because “Three Way” is based on my real life experiences, the situation that “Three Way” is about, had been unfolding while I was in the studio. It was a song written in real time. - What do you hope people will take away from llistening to this single?
I hope this song is an opportunity to get any frustration at someone out and off their minds and exchange that with thinking about how special we all are. - What are your goals for 2024?
Gosh, releasing music, enjoying life with my new puppy and working with new people in the industry. I would love to expand my circle and get super creative. - Where can we follow you on social media?
