Singer/Songwriter Mery Diamondz is starting off 2024 with a new single titled “Heartbeat”. The single was inspired by Mery’s own personal experience of excitement about the upcoming arrival of her new nephew. This talented singer is taking Hollywood by storm with her personal lyrics and powerful vocals. I recently interviewed Mery about her new single and her plans for 2024!
1. Tell us about your upcoming single “Heartbeat”.
My upcoming single is about my nephew when I found out my sister was pregnant with a boy. That news got me very excited, so I chose to put my excitement into the song lyrics.
2. What was your inspiration behind the song?
I drew inspiration for the song “Heartbeat” from the anticipation of joy surrounding the news of my sister expecting a boy. The universal experience of every woman hearing the rhythmic heartbeat in her stomach during pregnancy, symbolizes a profound connection and a beginning of a new chapter in life.
3. How much rehearsal time is there between writing the song and recording it?
Composing a song is a fast process. My process involves first compiling my sentiments and thoughts onto paper, then figuring out melody that suits the lyrics. Finally, recording it and finalizing the piece.
4. What do you love most about making music?
The thing I love most about making music is being able to convey my message through my lyrics to my fans worldwide. I want my messages to lift their spirits and illuminate their paths in life.
5. What’s the craziest thing that happened to you in the studio?
In the studio, we experienced something unforgettable- recording a powerful song about human trafficking. My producer surprised me by bringing in live musicians, and the emotional saxophone performance truly touched my heart. It was a special and memorable day that I’ll never forget.
6. What do you hope people will take away from hearing this song?
A heartbeat, whether it’s the steady pulse of their own existence or the tender flutter of a pregnant woman’s fetus. A heartbeat represents life, and where there is life there is love.
7. What are your goals for 2024?
My goals for 2024 have already started. I’m going to be in an A-list movie as well as being part of the music production and I’m also getting ready for a writing collaboration.
