CHANNELING THE INNER WORDSWORTH – TUSHAR KIRAN MOODGAL

“Come forth into the light of things, let nature be your teacher.”

These verses from the legandary poet William Wordsworth’s fabled poem “The Tables Turned” seem to resonate quite well with the Delhi based bard Tushar Kiran Moodgal, whose love for nature is encapsulated in his many poetic odes, which sing praises of mother nature. Moodgal’s literary prowess is characterized by a unique writing style that artfully melds various influences, seamlessly blending elements of romanticism, gothic themes, and profound philosophical reflections with a refreshingly candid and unvarnished approach to his craft. For his meticulous dedication and contributions to the artform, he has recently been awarded the prestigious “William Wordsworth Memorial Award” by the Inkzoid foundation.
Moodgal who cites Wordsworth as a major source of inspiration, was ecstatic with joy upon recieving the award;
“I am deeply humbled and incredibly honoured to have been awarded the prestigious William Wordsworth Memorial Award. This recognition is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the power of poetry and literature to bridge gaps, inspire minds, and connect souls.”
An elated Moodgal, then proceeded by sharing with us what Wordsworth meant to him and the impact his creations have had on the Shahdara born poet;
“William Wordsworth’s poetry has been a guiding light in my literary endeavours. His verses, infused with nature’s beauty and the depth of human experience, have shaped my understanding of the profound impact words can have. Wordsworth’s ability to find inspiration in the simplicity of life and capture the essence of fleeting moments has been a constant source of inspiration. His unwavering connection with nature and keen observations of the human condition have encouraged me to explore the intricacies of our existence through my own work. In the spirit of Wordsworth, I urge everyone to embrace the beauty of everyday moments, to find inspiration in the world around us, and to express our thoughts and feelings through the art of poetry. Let us learn from his dedication to his craft, his love for humanity, and his ability to find solace and wisdom in nature’s embrace.”
Moodgal further added, “I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Inkzoid Foundation who have supported my literary and poetic endeavours since day one. This award serves as a beacon, illuminating the path of my literary journey and encouraging me to delve deeper into the realms of poetry and creativity. It is a reminder of the responsibility we bear as poets and writers to continue weaving words that resonate, provoke thought, and stir emotions. I am inspired to continue my poetic journey with renewed vigour, hoping to touch hearts and minds through the power of words.” Moodgal, overwhelmed with emotions then concluded, “I wish to dedicate this literary prize to my late father Shree Ashok Moodgal ji, the man who taught me the first alphabet of English, to weaving complex tapestries of language, the man who would read out poems of the masters of poetry to me, the man who introduced me to the wonderful creations of the great William Wordsworth himself. Thank you dad, I hope you are watching. I love you and I miss you so much.”

Tushar Kiran Moodgal’s love affair with the world of poetry began at an early age. Guided by his father, who himself was an aficionado of English poetry and literature, Tushar developed a penchant for the written word and it was only a matter of time before he started composing his own rhymes. Moodgal’s poetry, according to him, has undergone a significant metamorphosis over the years. Starting out his poetry was filled with a lot of angst. During his college days he wrote quite a lot about heartache, anxiety issues and depression with a very nihilistic approach. However with time his poetry became philosophical in nature. He is a firm believer in the teachings of the Geeta and is a strong advocate of the Stoic philosophy.

Moodgal’s passion towards his craft has brought him quite a lot of success in recent times. A national award winning poet, Moodgal has co-authored around 30 poetry anthologies and his debut poetry compilation ‘Lamentations’ has garnered him the “William Shakespeare Golden Book And Laureate Award” along with the “Jane Austen Platinum Book Award”. He has also been the recipient of “Tagore Ratna Samman”, “Nazrul Sahitya Samman”, “Bankim Chandra Sahitya Samman”, “Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar Iconic Achiever Award”, “Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay Memorial Award” amongst many others. For his remarkable contributions towards poetry and literature he was conferred upon with the “Bharat Shree National Award”, “National Appreciation Award” as well as the “Dadasaheb Phalke ITV Award” in 2023. Internationally he was honoured with the “MBR Global Excellence Award” as well as the “Asian Excellence Award” in Singapore. Some of his other accolades include “The Best Poet” and “Poet of the Year” awards, the “Wandering Minds Best Philosophical Poetry Award” for his poem “Conquering of Self,” and recognition as one of the “Outstanding Poets” for his contributions to the “Mysterious Fantasy” anthology by Instant Publications. His poem “Birds of Misfortune” published in Evincepub’s bilingual anthology “Anokhe Alfaz” received the esteemed “Most Soulful Poetry Award.” Tushar’s distinctive style of philosophy-laden poetry earned him the title of “Breakout Poet 2023”. These accolades not only honour his literary prowess but also underscore his unique ability to craft poetry that resonates deeply with readers.

In 2023, Tushar achieved multiple world records with his poem “Rhapsody Of Twilight,” earning him a place in the Inkzoid Book of Records and the Glorious Book of Records.

Beyond his literary pursuits, Tushar has a keen interest in Philosophy, History, and the study of political behavior and its cultural impacts. He completed a master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations and also studied the Japanese language at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University.

Tushar has worked as a sports journalist for independent media platforms such as Vrinsidesports, Game Has Just Begun, and Bleedsport. He is an ardent supporter of Chelsea F.C. and currently serves as the club secretary for the Delhi chapter of the Chelsea India Supporters Club.

Moodgal frequently shares his poetic musings and contemplations on his Instagram account @tusharkiranmoodgalpoetry where he has garnered a substantial following of poetry enthusiasts. His poetry has been featured in various newspapers and digital media platforms.

As Tushar Kiran Moodgal continues to ascend the literary ladder, his work serves as an inspiration to both seasoned writers and budding poets.
