Two-time Olympic Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is a World Record holding American sprinter and hurdler. In 2016, McLaughlin-Levrone made the Olympic team at the age of 16 for the Rio Summer Olympics. She made history as the youngest U.S. Olympian to compete in track and field since 1972 and set a junior world record in the 400m hurdles at the Olympic team trials. McLaughlin-Levrone cemented herself as a track superstar with a Gold Medal in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics in the 400m Hurdles, where she broke the world record with a 51.46 second time in addition to a Gold medal for the 4x400m relay.

Most recently, at 22 years old, McLaughlin-Levrone again broke the 400m Hurdle record to win a Gold Medal at the Track and Field World Championships in Eugene, Oregon in July. In Eugene she ran a mind-blowing 50.68 seconds to become the first woman to ever run below 51 seconds – this is the fourth time in 2 years she has broken the World Record. 

Prior to her professional career, McLaughlin-Levrone competed at the University of Kentucky, and was the Gatorade National High School Track and Field Athlete of the Year for two consecutive years, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. McLaughlin-Levrone was born in Dunellen, New Jersey and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA with her husband, Andre Levrone, Jr.
