Tarah Who? has released their second project for this year, “Toast To The Brave.” Based out of Los Angeles, Tarah Who? is led by Tarah Carpenter and can best be described as a hybrid between grunge and punk. Along with her is the talented drummer/backing vocalist Coralie Hervé. Anybody who enjoys listening to grunge music, as well as anyone who enjoys listening to punk will easily enjoy “Toast To The Brave.” Additionally, this song’s anthemic lyrics will resonate those looking for a song about triumph and, as the title suggests, bravery.
“Toast To The Brave” is inspired by the Day of the Dead, otherwise known as Día de Muertos. There are three verses in this song: one inspired by the Indonesian submarine sinking tragedy from April 2021, one inspired by a personal story and struggles of Tarah’s friend, and the third inspired by a perspective on Quintin Phillippe Jones’ execution. All three verses combine to create a song that lyrically exceeds all expectations a listener may have. When also considering the soaring guitars and the drums that accompany these vocals, it is safe to say “Toast To The Brave” is a standout track and one that deserves repeat listens.
