The Oscars show producers Will Packer and Shayla Cowan recently announced that a special performance will be added to this year’s ceremony. The 94th Oscars®, airing live on ABC and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT will be held in Super Bowl champions LA Rams stomping grounds of Los Angeles, California. Hitting the Oscars stage this year, will be an historic All-Star Band featuring the show’s music director Adam Blackstone, blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, female percussionist and singer Sheila E. and Grammy Award Winning, genre-spanning pianist, Robert Glasper.
To put the icing on the cake, DJ D-Nice, who’s popularity increasingly grew over the last two years via his virtual Club Quarantine parties, will also be performing during the show. He is also set to DJ at the Governors Ball, which is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ official post-Oscars celebration. To kick off the festivities, last Friday March 18th, D-Nice hosted the official Oscars Club Quarantine pre-party via Instagram, inviting fans to join him on his road to the Oscars.
Other acts that are expected to hit the stage include The Samples, a high profile, dynamic vocal group under the direction of Jason White. Jason White and The Samples rose to fame as the official music choir for Kanye West’ Sunday Service. To close out the musical selections, the orchestra will be rounding out the musical lineup in the telecast, accompanied by D-Nice. As the Academy Awards near, the producers will continue to announce musical guests and performances leading up to the show.
The 94th Oscars will be televised live on ABC at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT and in more than 200 territories worldwide. For more information on this year’s award ceremony, follow the Academy here.
