Blaq Pages sums up his illustrious career as a DJ and producer but those who know him revere him as a pioneer in the African diaspora. His signature style of music is known to be melodic, lively, and contagious syncopated drums and tribal chants. He is a champion of an insurmountable melody that crosses over into other continents, gaining acceptance from people who do not yet know him.
Thus, this has led Blaq Pages to release many singles, with various artists from around the world, the most recent one being “Journey” a song he is featured on along with long time friend Kirani Ayat. As the founder and Co-Director of the African Music Association, Blaq Pages guides various organizations in Los Angeles that promote African music and artists.
Blaq Pages also leads and directs the Annual International African Music Month. With international experience and earned credentials, Blaq Pages continues to display his expertise in Amapiano, Afro House, Tribal House, GQOM, Highlife, Kuduro, and Afrobeats.
Over the past decade, Blaq Pages has been creating music with intention knowing it takes time to build the resume of work that has given him and other artists the platform they need to push African culture forward. Using music and other mediums of art, He believes their hard work propelled their success and has laid the foundation for future generations of artists who have yet to arrive on the scene. He is admired for his genre bending productions though he is a vigorous business man on a quest for global recognition.
As an international artist and figure, Blaq Pages has teamed up with other international artists such as Rema, Machel Montano, Shatta Wale, Wizkid and Burna Boy amongst many others. Blaq Pages’ talent and wealth of knowledge in producing African music was the stepping stone that helped him gain notoriety at events like TRYBVL, Afro Gogo – The African Fiesta, Chocolate, Juneteenth Flick, and Half n Half. Not to be outdone Blaq Pages’ high energy, wisdom, vision, and love for African music led him to launch and manage an African sound system named Motherland Sound System.
