The creative path of Jessie Rabbit and the Tunes represents a long term dedication to reggae music, spiritual expression, and community awareness. The project is led by American musician Jessica Wabbit, born Jessica Carol McClain, whose work reflects deep respect for reggae tradition while embracing independent artistry. Her sound draws from reggae, roots rock reggae, dub, ska, and lovers’ rock, allowing her music to move between conscious roots messages, rhythmic experimentation, and soulful expressions of love. Through consistent involvement in music creation, production, promotion, and media, she has shaped a career that goes beyond performance and speaks to purpose. Her approach is guided by the belief that music carries responsibility and can serve as a source of healing, reflection, and unity.

Long before Jessie Rabbit and the Tunes became an official music project, Wabbit was immersed in creative influences that shaped her artistic identity. Raised in California, she grew up surrounded by diverse sounds and cultural perspectives. Reggae rhythms, Caribbean influences, ska energy, dub sound system culture, and socially aware lyrics played a key role in shaping her musical taste. During childhood, she was given the nickname Jessica Rabbit, which later evolved into Jessica Wabbit as she established her professional name. The project title Jessie Rabbit and the Tunes was later created to represent her musical vision and collaborative spirit, as well as the band-oriented tradition of reggae music.

Spiritual belief has remained central to Wabbit’s life and work. She follows the Rastafarian faith and practices an Ital lifestyle rooted in vegetarian and vegan principles. These values influence her music and personal philosophy, emphasizing respect for nature, peace, and conscious living. Her lyrics often explore unity, love, and collective responsibility, blending the spiritual foundations of roots reggae with the emotional storytelling found in lovers’ rock. Rather than separating belief from creativity, Wabbit integrates both, allowing her music to function as expression, meditation, and reflection.

Her professional journey began in 2014 with work in modeling, acting, and backup singing. These early roles helped her develop stage confidence and adaptability across creative environments. In 2015, she expanded her songwriting abilities by writing hooks and choruses for hip hop groups, strengthening her understanding of rhythm, flow, and song structure. By 2016, she moved into co-producing, gaining hands on experience in audio production and creative direction. This period also deepened her appreciation for dub techniques, bass-driven arrangements, and layered vocal production. During this time, she became involved in promotional work for reggae artists and events, building professional relationships within the international reggae community.

A major shift in her career occurred in 2017 when she began working with legendary reggae artist Don Carlos. This experience marked an important step in her development and strengthened her connection to roots rock, reggae and traditional Rastafarian themes. By 2019, Wabbit was actively involved with Don Carlos’ label and the reggae focused media platform Reggae Gone Viral. Her role included artist promotion and digital outreach, allowing her to support reggae culture beyond her own recordings and performances while remaining engaged with the broader reggae movement.

The official release of Jessie Rabbit and the Tunes as a recorded music project took place in 2022, marking the moment her full reggae identity reached a wider audience. That same year, she released “Don’t Let Go,” featuring Don Carlos, a lovers rock–influenced collaboration that showcased her softer vocal range while remaining firmly grounded in classic reggae traditions. She followed with “Why Don’t You Do Right (Rasta Version),” reinterpreting familiar material through a roots reggae and Rastafarian lens. Together, these releases established her versatility across reggae, lovers’ rock, and dancehall, highlighting her ability to move fluidly between styles while maintaining a distinct artistic voice.

Building on that momentum, Jessie Rabbit is set to release new music, music videos, and a full photo campaign in 2026, alongside a dancehall single scheduled for release next month. She will also take her sound on the road with her upcoming tour, Rabbit Fever, bringing her high-energy performances and genre-blending catalog to audiences worldwide.

Wabbit’s career reflects a broad creative scope that extends beyond music recording. She has worked as a producer, promoter, media journalist, and creative director. Her experience includes modeling, music videos, short films, and stage productions. She has contributed to promotional efforts for many reggae artists, including Anthony B, Half Pint, Scientist, Johnny Clarke, Protoje, and Buju Banton. She has also supported major Southern California reggae festivals such as Cali Vibes, Cali Roots, Reggae on the River, Reggae on the Mountain, Dub Club in Los Angeles, the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, and the One Love Festival, spaces where reggae, dub, and ska culture remain active and evolving.

Alongside her creative work, Wabbit has built several independent ventures. She founded Mama Earth Records to release her music independently and maintain creative freedom. Rabbit Hole Productions serves as her production studio for music and media development, supporting projects that range from roots reggae to dub-driven recordings. Through Jessica Wabbit Worldwide, she operates a media journalism platform focused on artist promotion and cultural storytelling within reggae and related genres. Her work has been featured by Carib Press, recognizing her role within contemporary reggae media and independent music journalism. She is also the founder of Queen of Hearts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to community support and charitable outreach based on compassion and service.

Her discography includes albums such as Everywhere I Go, Come Home, He Loves Me He Loves Me Not, His Eyes, I Am Not Bad, Shine Eye Boy, Tide Is High Jah Lead the Way, Jah Jah Works, All I Want, Money in My Pocket, Why Do Not You Do Right Rasta Version, Perfect World, and Do Not Let Go. Across these releases, her music reflects a balance of reggae tradition, roots rock energy, dub textures, ska influences, and lovers’ rock themes, with a consistent focus on love, spiritual awareness, and social consciousness.

As Jessie Rabbit and the Tunes prepares new material for release in 2026, including singles, music videos, and expanded touring, Jessica Wabbit continues to move forward with clarity and purpose. Her commitment to music, culture, and community defines her work and positions her as an independent voice within reggae whose influence extends beyond the beat.
