There’s a new pulse coming out of San Diego’s underground scene, and it carries the unmistakable signature of Trill Bans — the multi-platinum rap producer now rewriting his story as an EDM DJ.
After years of producing for hip-hop and reggaeton heavyweights including Chicago’s Lil Durk, Mexico’s very own Chino Pacas, and Puerto Rico’s rising star Omar
Courtz, Trill is stepping into the spotlight with his debut EDM single, “solamente tú.” The track blends the hypnotic energy of underground house with the warmth of vocal chops that lift it to another level — a sound that feels both futuristic and deeply personal.
Born Marko Cervantes, Trill’s journey began at sixteen when he downloaded FL Studio onto his mom’s laptop and started teaching himself production. Within a few years, his beats were circulating throughout the industry, eventually earning him multi-platinum and Billboard-charting success with artists across the U.S. and Latin America. But in 2025, something shifted. “I fell back in love with music again,” he says. “This time, not as a producer behind the scenes — but as the artist.”

That spark became Trill Bans the DJ — a sonic reinvention blending the global intensity of electronic music with the emotion of his Mexican roots. Drawing inspiration from the neon grit of late-night club culture, Trill spent the past year building momentum through live sets across San Diego’s scene and performing alongside fellow native artist Lil Maru, while his remixes quietly amassed over 50K streams on SoundCloud. His “Trill Thursdays” series — a weekly drop of original edits and remixes — has captured a growing cult following drawn to his cinematic soundscapes and bold visuals.
Now, with “solamente tú,” Trill isn’t just releasing a debut — he’s declaring a new era. The record marks the beginning of his evolution from hit-maker to headliner, from studio boards to festival stages. It’s the sound of an artist finally stepping into his own light — and inviting the world to dance in it.
