highlights Malcolm Todd’s viral rise and breakout hit Chest Pain (I Love).

TikTok announced that the second artist to be featured in its new Behind The Breakthrough series is California singer-songwriter Malcolm Todd and his breakout track Chest Pain (I Love).

Behind the Breakthrough is a documentary-style series that highlights breakout TikTok artists reflecting on how the platform and its community helped shape their music careers. This second installment spotlights Malcolm Todd as he looks back at his career journey and how he built a fan base through TikTok.

“When I was posting on TikTok, it was just a collection of all the songs I had made. I kept getting a little more traction on each thing, which led up to a breakout moment for me with a song called Chest Pain (I Love). I think people connected with the positive message to it about love. Seeing my music attached to beautiful moments – it’s indescribable. I feel like the most important thing is that you’re leading with your art and what you care about. I think it’s super exciting to see your music spread. Getting signed and going on my first ever tour – it’s the dream for any musician.” – Malcolm Todd

Malcolm Todd has 493,000 followers on TikTok, and his music has inspired over 3.9 million video creations and 9.5 billion video views. Chest Pain (I Love) reached #3 on the TikTok Top 50 Chart, climbed to #19 on Spotify’s Top 50, and has racked up over 73 million streams on Spotify.
