Kristie Kim –  Exposing Talents For Eternity

“Art wasn’t supposed to look nice; it was supposed to make you feel something.”

 – Rainbow Rowell

Having an artistic and creative mindset is a blessing for one and is deemed necessary to be exhibited across the globe. Unfortunately, art has never received the recognition it is meant to acclaim, owing to the top-notch creativity and effort that are piled up in order to create a masterpiece. Artists, since eternity, have always had trouble finding the right platform to display their voices and expressions. Every masterpiece is a consequence of a blend of tragedies and emotions stirring up inside a person, which then results in a beautiful byproduct. Often, the financial strain on artists compels them to trade their copyrights to a third party, refraining them from having ownership of their own crafts. However, acknowledging the harsh conditions imposed on artists since day one instigated Kristie Kim, a marvelous artist, to establish a multimedia platform named Kristie Kim’s Designs. This multimedia business has been inaugurated with the sole purpose of being the unheard voice of the larger population of individuals with the constant threat of having their talents stumble to death.

In the contemporary digital era, the significance of multimedia businesses is supreme, given their capacity to disseminate an extensive range of content using unalike channels, such as text, audio, video, and interactive features. Their relevance spans various industries, playing a vibrant role in enhancing communication, marketing strategies, and brand development. Particularly within the entertainment sector, multimedia businesses meaningfully impact cultural experiences by crafting and broadcasting content across diverse platforms. In education and training, these businesses leverage technology to create interactive learning experiences. The global accessibility of multimedia content, facilitated by the internet, dismantles geographical constraints, allowing for an expanded market reach.

Born to Young Kim and Soon Kim in Seoul, South Korea, Kristie Kim began her artistic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Design Studies, accompanied by a minor in Art and Design, from North Carolina State University. She distinguished herself as a full-ride Pack Promise Scholar during her time at the university. Following this, she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the prestigious ArtCenter College of Design, graduating in 2018. Her commitment to excellence was evident in the numerous stipends and grants, totaling over $15,000, she received during her time at the ArtCenter College of Design.

Kim currently resides and works in Los Angeles. Although she initially commenced her career as an intern at Disney, her occupation as an artist and entrepreneur took a magnificent turn with the formation of Kristie Kim Design in Los Angeles on July 18, 2015. Following the diverse benefits of the modern era submerged in the ocean of digital media platforms, she now finds her solace in generating content for podiums such as YouTube and other social media channels.

This multimedia business, certified by Community Business Enterprise for Women and Minority Business Enterprise programs by Los Angeles County, has been a platform for promoting unique graphic designs and authentic art, as well as engaging in entertainment arts marketing.

Kim initially gained acclaim through her involvement in the U.S. Capitol Cannon Pedestrian Tunnel exhibit, spanning from May 2010 to May 2011. This display followed her success in the 2010 Congressional Art Show, where her tempera painting, titled The Chase, secured the top spot. Another notable milestone in Kim’s career was her illustration work for the book Writers of the Future Volume 30, published by Author Services and Galaxy Press in 2014. Having clinched first place in the L. Ron Hubbard International Illustrators of the Future Contest in June 2013, she received an invitation to Hollywood, California, where she worked in partnership with professional illustrators, directors, and publishers at Author Services and Galaxy Press in April 2014. Kim’s pledge to her artistic pursuits was emphasized by her inclusion in the Dean’s List at North Carolina State University, along with receiving numerous accolades such as the NC Arts Student Art Purchase, the 2010 Presidential Volunteer Gold Service Award, and the North Carolina Action Young Peacemakers Award.
